Grandma Katherine and the Wonderful, Incredible, So Good, Very Awesome Grandma Camp

If you can’t tell from the title of this blog my mom is amazing. Beyond amazing, amazing doesn’t even begin to describe it. She had a lot of kids, a lot, a lot of kids. And those kids keep having kids. Out of the four kids who have kids she has 14 Grandkids and she still nine kids who haven't even started birthing kids yet (plus I am having one more). . She basically has the new Israel in her family room at least once a week. Once a year she takes all of these people to Grandma Camp and some how manages to help them all get along (soft answers) have fun and participate in crazy stuff.

This year’s Grandma Camp looked something like this:
Day One: Farm Day. She got (almost) all the ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies from local farms and made cookies!

Day Two: Ranch Day. She took all the kids horseback riding up at a ranch in Idaho.

Day Three: River Rafting and making our own Soda Pop. We went to the Soda springs Geyser and then went River Rafting at Lava Hot Springs (my favorite day)

Day Four: Bear Lake. As is tradition we ended at Bear Lake. our little piece of heaven. It wasn’t as blazing hot as some would have liked for a beach day but that didn’t scare the kids from jumping right in.  And for me it was perfect, I like warm windy beach days.

Here are a bunch of random pictures from the trip.

I love you mom, thank you for helping us make such awesome memories!

Happy Father's Day to my Baby Daddies.

I am so grateful that both of my babies have dads that not only love and protect them but are involved in the day to day duties of raising them. I really am blessed.

Thank you for my babies, I love you both. #awkward #babydaddies#HappyFathersDay

Planting Pumpkins for CC

When we moved into our new house one thing the girls got so excited about was that we had a garden. CC was born on Halloween so I promised her we would plant our own Pumpkin Patch! Sadly with all of the things that are going on with CC's mom and CC she wasn't able to join us but just like I promised Quinn, Jayah and Henry joined me in the garden tonight and we planted a whole bunch of pumpkins just for our CC.

Miss you girl!!!  Can't wait to for you to help us carve them! We Love you!

Jayah's family.

Today we went to Lagoon for a family day. It was pretty amazing, because not only did I get to be there with my family (sadly minus CC) but because we got to be there with Jayah's whole family.

When I was younger I used to go to Lagoon every year with my whole family...all 14 of us kids with my mom and dad and usually some hitch hiker friends. I don't know how my mom and dad afforded it but they did and it is one of my favorite memories. Now that my parents are divorced we don't get to do outing likes that any more with everyone.

Its often said that a successful marriage is made of two good forgivers.  Shawn and I were talking about this on the way home tonight. That it takes all of us to make this work. Jaymeson and Heather have to constantly forgive me for my shortcomings or my emotional responses to situations and I have to do the same to them. But we all do it.

I think a lot of people think getting divorced means ending a relationship from that person. Jaymeson and I decided early on that's not what it meant for us,  it meant being in a different kind of a relationship.

I am so grateful to Jaymeson and Heather (Jayah's Dad and Step-Mom) for their willingness and openness to having a relationship with me and Shawn. Because of all the hard work all of us put in, Jayah is able to have memory after memory with her whole family. She doesn't feel she has to choose or side with either of us because all of us are one family, her family.

I will keep praying that Michelle, Shawn and me can work towards this for CC and Q.
